Tucson Hockey Event Brings Grateful Dead Night to Downtown

The Tucson Roadrunners will host a Grateful Dead Night on Saturday, March 28 at Tucson Arena. The Tucson hockey event pairs a home game against the Ontario Reign with music, food, and themed entertainment. Fans can expect a full evening that blends sports with classic rock culture.

The game begins at 7 p.m. at the Tucson Convention Center. The matchup marks part of the team’s final regular-season meetings against Ontario.

Pregame Tailgate Sets the Tone

The Tucson hockey event starts well before puck drop. A pregame tailgate party begins at 4:30 p.m. with food and drinks from Barrio Brewing Co.

Guests who purchase upgraded ticket packages can access the tailgate and live music. The event will feature Legion of Mario performing songs from Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead.

This early start creates a festival-like atmosphere. Fans can arrive early, grab a drink, and settle in before the game begins.

Ticket Packages and Food Options

Organizers offer multiple ticket packages for the Tucson hockey event:

  • Ticket + exclusive Grateful Dead x Roadrunners T-shirt starting at $40
  • Ticket + T-shirt + Barrio tailgate party access starting at $65
  • Cold Beer and Cheeseburgers pack with four tickets and a gift card starting at $70

These options give fans flexibility based on how they want to experience the night. Food and beverage specials will also run throughout the arena.

A Full Night of Hockey and Entertainment

Inside the arena, the Tucson hockey event will feature Dead-Head music and themed entertainment all night.

The Roadrunners will face the Ontario Reign in a key late-season matchup. Meanwhile, the themed night adds an extra layer of energy for fans looking for more than a typical game.

The combination of live music, local beer, and hockey creates a unique downtown experience. Events like this continue to position Roadrunners games as a destination for both sports and nightlife.
