“May the 4th” has evolved into an unofficial holiday for Star Wars fans everywhere — and I.O. Extracts is channeling that energy into an evening designed to give back to the Tucson community that has supported them.
Tucson’s cannabis extract brand I.O. Extracts is throwing open the doors of Fourth Avenues’s Empire Tattoo on May 4th for a community appreciation night that doubles as one of the most entertaining Star Wars Day celebrations in Southern Arizona. Running from 6-9 p.m. and completely free to attend, the event merges galactic fandom with local art, live activations, and a chance to win prizes worth far more than your average raffle basket.
The theme is straightforward: Star Wars plus flash tattoos. Empire Tattoo’s artists will be on hand offering flash tattoo designs for the occasion, making it a rare opportunity to walk out with a piece of original ink in a setting that feels more like a block party than a traditional tattoo studio.
Expect film, flash tattoos, raffles, infused butter popcorn, and IO Extract’s own dab bar experience. The feature film screening of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith rounds out the cinematic atmosphere, and patrons can enjoy popcorn (with an optional cannabis-infused butter) while relaxing into the night.
The raffle alone is worth showing up for. The headlining prize — a custom $1,500 Star Wars tattoo on the inside forearm — is being contributed by the Empire Tattoo team, an outfit with serious credibility in the Tucson tattoo scene. Other prizes include a lightsaber, an I.O. Cosmic Kit, and tickets to an upcoming Star Wars Orchestra performance in Tucson, making the evening feel like it’s plugged into the broader regional Star Wars cultural moment.
