The interplay of botanicals like juniper berries gives gin its characteristic depth and complexity, making it a beloved spirit for cocktails. If you’re not too familiar with gin, or have simply never given it a shot (alcohol pun), there’s a brand-new concept coming to downtown Tucson next month.
The team behind Iron John’s Brewing Company is transforming its current taproom at 222 E. Congress St. into a gin-focused bar named Juniper.
Juniper is set to open on Friday, September 1 and the very last day to grab an Iron John’s beer in the taproom is Monday, August 21. Their current hours are 5 p.m. – midnight on Thursday – Saturday and 1 – 6 p.m. on Sunday. Stay tuned for the hours of operation on Monday, August 21.
So, the family business is expanding! Juniper will not be making their own gin but instead serving a full gin bar with gin-focused cocktails.
The team is also still working on reconstructing the Monkey Burger space on 5350 E. Broadway Blvd. #128. The new space will be equipped with plenty of beer and a brand-new food menu.
We’ll keep you in the loop with more information on when they plan to open the doors to the new concept.
Have you been to the 28,000-square-foot building at 555 E. 18th St. to grab a beer? Aside from the beer-drinkin’ area in the massive building is a full-sized indoor soccer field, a small practice area in the southeast corner, and a half-court space to shoot hoops.
The 18th Street location is open from 5 p.m. – midnight on Thursday – Friday and from 2 – 10 p.m. on Saturday.
As of March 2019, Chris Faitsch, his wife, Rose Faitsch, and their entrepreneurial accomplice, Cory Carpenter, became the sole owners of Iron John’s Brewing Company. They had been gradually accruing shares since 2017 after the original Iron John’s owners parted ways. Most recently, Stuart Lauer and Fletcher McCusker joined the group when Iron John’s merged with Monkey Burger.
