"Today is a difficult and sad day for everyone involved with our business."

After nearly a year in business, Boulevard Barbecue & Fixins is permanently closing its doors at 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 26.

The team behind Serial Grillers, Toro Loco Tacos y Burros, Craft, A Modern Drinkery, and the most recent Transplant Pizza, shared the news on Facebook, stating that the decision was truly a tough one to make.

“This wasn’t an easy decision by any means, but rather the smart decision based on a lot of factors from COVID, to labor shortages, to meat price increases, and shortages. We have done our best, but unfortunately have come up short this time.”

After the success of owning several other businesses in Tucson, Travis and William Miller decided to branch out in 2019 and create a collaborative cuisine with David Martin of Red Desert BBQ. The restaurant, which made a point to appeal to more people than just barbecue traditionalists, officially opened in October 2020.

“We want to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our employees and customers for helping make this dream a reality, and we hope we can serve you one, or 10, last delicious meals before we shut the doors. Again, none of this is possible without you guys and your generous support.”

Therefore, you’ve got until 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 26 to get your barbecue fix. So, thank the crew, order up something you’ve never eaten before, and be sure to use plenty of napkins, too.

Boulevard Barbecue & Fixins is located at 5737 E. Speedway Blvd. For more information, visit boulevardbbqaz.com.
