Acacia Celebrates 10 Years in Tucson, Adds New (and Classic) Menu Items

Nov 19, 20141 min read

Acacia Real Food & Cocktails is officially celebrating 10 years in Tucson. This isn’t a one day only party – owners Chef Albert Hall and Lila Yamishiro are inviting you to help celebrate for 10 days, from November 16 through November 26.

Over the next week, guests that are over 21 will receive complementary glasses of sparkling wine with the purchase of an entree in the dining room. Plus, daily anniversary specials will be featured.

If you aren’t sure about which entree to choose for your free glass of sparkling, new additions have been made to the lunch and dinner menus. Acacia has even brought back a few of their classic dishes for the celebration, including the Crab Louis Salad and Bronzed Scottish Salmon.

Fall 2014 Lunch Menu Additions at Acacia

  • Braised Pork Cheeks – Red hominy, Oazacan queso, micro cilantro and fried egg
  • Butternut Squash Bisque – Maple bourbon marshmallow and toasted pepitas
  • Crab Louis Salad – Fresh Dungeness Crab, grated egg, tomato, lemon capers and crisp greens with Louis dressing
  • Bronzed Scottish Salmon – Braised spinach, baby plum tomato and roasted beets with honey mustard glaze

Fall 2014 Dinner Menu Additions at Acacia

  • Sea Scallops – Beurre noisette, stone fruit-pecan relish and sweet potato puree
  • Pork Schnitzel – Preserved Meyer lemon, bacon cheddar Yukon potato mash, broccoli, cranberry half glaze
  • Cherry Wood-Smoked Breast of Duckling – Duet of cauliflower, braised rapini, bruleed grapes, citrus glaze

After 4pm, @Talegacoffee at 177 N. Church Ave. transforms into @_Velvetcowboy, serving cocktails, tapas, and late-night bar energy. Velvet Cowboy’s grand opening is Oct. 16, with upcoming events including drag brunches, DJs, and live music.🪩

This weekend’s hours are Saturday from 2pm to midnight and Sunday from noon to 10pm. Featured in this video is the Chilte(penis) martini special, made with chiltepin vodka, agua de chiltepin, and pickle juice, available until they sell out.🍸

“Opening this place feels a little surreal. To now have a space where we can bring together coffee, food, art, booze, and all the weird things we love feels like a reflection of how far we’ve come.” —Tyler Melo
