Berry Greens Acai & Juice Bar closes its downtown Congress Street location

Aug 24, 20261 min read

Berry Greens Juice Bar is closing the doors on its original downtown Tucson shop. The juice and acai bowl spot announced the closure of its 245 E. Congress St. location on Instagram, ending a seven-year run in the space.

"After much thought and consideration, we have decided to close down our downtown Congress St location after 7 amazing years," Berry Greens shared. "We want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support, loyalty and for allowing us to be a part of your community for so long."

Berry Greens will keep its University Boulevard location open near the University of Arizona, and the team says that shop will now get its full attention. "Berry Greens on University will remain open and receive our teams full focus moving forward," the announcement said.

Berry Greens' history in Tucson

Berry Greens got its start in Tucson in 2019, first operating out of American Eat Co. before moving into its own storefront. The shop later took over the Congress Street space that had previously housed Berry Divine Acai Bowls, building a menu around acai bowls, cold-pressed juices, smoothies and other healthy bites in the heart of downtown.

As demand grew, Berry Greens expanded beyond downtown, opening a second location at 943 E. University Blvd. near Main Gate Square. For a while, the two shops operated side by side, giving Tucsonans on both ends of the city easy access to the brand's acai bowls and juices. Now, the University Boulevard shop stands as the company's sole Tucson location.

What's next for Berry Greens

Berry Greens didn't share a specific reason for the downtown closure., but said it plans to announce a reopening date for its University location soon.

Follow the shop on Instagram for updates on what comes next.
