Brews & Bites Set for August 16 at Highlands at Dove Mountain

Jul 24, 20252 min read

Tucson Originals and Tucson Foodie are bringing Brews & Bites back to the Highlands at Dove Mountain from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 16. The 21-and-up event will pair top Tucson chefs with local craft breweries for a one-of-a-kind tasting experience.

Guests will stroll through the elegant venue at 4949 W. Heritage Club Blvd., sampling chef-crafted small plates with locally brewed beer. Each dish-and-beer pairing is designed exclusively for the event.

Here’s video from last year’s event:

Collaboration on every plate

Twelve local chefs will team up in pairs, each duo working with one of four featured breweries to create a signature bite. Attendees can enjoy samples at each station while live music from local guitarist Joshua Rhoads fills the air.

Participating chefs include:

  • Chuy Tellez (Zio Peppe)
  • Brian Steiner (The Highlands at Dove Mountain)
  • Rocco DiGrazia (Rocco’s Little Chicago)
  • Mary Steiger (Gourmet Girls)
  • Toby Kyte (Bashful Bandit)
  • Michael Elefante (Mama Louisa’s)
  • Mat Cable (Fresco Pizzeria & Pastaria)
  • Rick Torres (Noble Hops)
  • Jacki Kuder (Kingfisher)
  • Jamie Harper (Midtown Vegan Deli)
  • John Aldecoa (Brother John’s)
  • Juan Almanza (El Taco Rustico)

Local breweries include:

  • Barrio Brewing Co.
  • Button Brewing Company
  • Crooked Tooth Brewing Co.
  • Screwbean Brewing
  • Tombstone Brewing Company

Each station will offer a unique pairing. Attendees can vote for their favorite dish of the evening.

Supporting Tucson’s food culture

Brews & Bites is part of Tucson Originals’ mission to promote independently owned local restaurants, distilleries, and breweries. The organization has supported Tucson’s culinary identity since 1999. Together with Tucson Foodie, the event aims to spotlight the talent and flavors that make the city special.

Tickets are $65, with a discounted rate of $55 available for Tucson Foodie Insiders. Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite.

Tucson’s barbecue options range from food trucks to full-service dining rooms. Some focus on classic Texas-style plates with butcher paper and simple sides. Others experiment with fusion dishes that blend barbecue with Mexican and Southwestern flavors. This variety gives diners plenty of options, whether they want a quick lunch or a sit-down meal.
