What could possibly make any Tucsonan happier than a Friday evening, craft beers, and a local cause?
This Friday, June 26, Tap & Bottle is hosting a special happy hour benefit for Desert Harvesters from 5 to 8pm.
This is the final festivity in the organization’s month-long series that celebrates the harvest and pending summer rains. Consider it a modern harvesting ceremony, with the generous sacrifice of quality local brews.
Tap & Bottle will have great regional brews on hand, some infused with locally sourced native ingredients. Neapolitan mobile pizza team, Fiamme Pizza Napoletana will also be on site, providing dishes that incorporate native wild ingredients.
In case you missed it, Desert Harvesters has been hosting tours and demonstrations around Tucson to educate locals on native ingredients and how to harvest them. On Thursday, you can get in the spirit by attending the 13th Annual Desert Harvesters Mesquite Milling & Wild Foods Fiesta at Santa Cruz Farmer’s Market. Guests can drop off mesquite and carob pods and have them milled into flour for just $3 a pound.
A percentage of all happy-hour sales will go to Desert Harvesters.
