Festival season is among us, meaning VegFest Tucson is almost here.
Hosted by FoodInRoot, a local organization known for various local farmers markets, VegFest promotes a plant-based and vegan diet.
From the flyer:
“The event is a festival with the common underlying theme being centered around plant-based, or vegan foods, and promotes the multitude of benefits of that lifestyle.”
From 10am to 6pm on Sunday, April 24, VegFest will feature food samples, live entertainment, raffles, cooking demonstrations, face painting, and guest speakers.
Guest speakers include vegan activist and author Robert Cheeke, Bite Size Vegan creator Emily Barwick, Factory Farming Awareness Coalition founder Katie Cantrell, Speciesism producer Mark Devries, and 15-year-old health advocate Haile Thomas.
The event is located downtown at The Whistle Stop Depot. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students. Children under 12 are free.
A portion of proceeds benefits City High School in Tucson.
