Girl Scout Cookies & Beer At Tap & Bottle, Exo, Borderlands & Sentinel Peak

Jan 19, 20161 min read

It’s that time of year again. The first test of resolve for those healthy eating new year’s resolutions. Girl Scout cookie season. And this time around, it’s not just your sweet tooth that will be tempted.

The local Girl Scout coalition is teaming up with local breweries and venues to hold Girl Scout cookie and beer pairings. Tap & Bottle, Exo Coffee, Borderlands And Sentinel Peak Brewing are all in on the game with events January 31 and February 6.

On Sunday, January 31 from 3 to 7pm, join the Girl Scouts at Tap & Bottle and Borderlands Brewing. Six of your favorite Girl Scout cookies will be paired with delicious craft brews selected by Tucson Girls’ Pint Out. “Girls Pint Stout,” the Russian imperial Stout brewed by Barrio Brewing Co. and Tucson Girls’ Pint Out, will be on tap.

A special coffee and cookie pairing will also be available at Exo Coffee, next door to Tap & Bottle.

On Saturday, February 6, from 2 to 5pm the party moves to Sentinel Peak Brewing, where each of their staple beers will be paired with a different Girl Scout cookie.

There will, of course, be a local Girl Scout nearby at all of the events so that you can pick up a few boxes of Thin Mints to take home and put in the freezer.

A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Girls Scouts of Southern Arizona.

For more information, visit the event page on Facebook.

@Jundynasty has served Sichuan dishes on Grant Road for 13 years.🌶️

General manager Jacob Yeung credits one idea above all: “We’ve grown since then, but the key has always been consistency.”

Stop in for Flaming Chili Oil, Walnut Shrimp, chow fun, or sautéed green beans finished with Sichuan peppercorns. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.

@Lovinspoonfulstucson is closing after more than 20 years in Tucson. Its final day of service runs on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Customers can stop in between now and Saturday for one last meal. The team plans to sell down its inventory, though it hopes to have favorite dishes available. Regular hours remain 9am-3pm through the final day.

“Running this kitchen has been a labor of love, but the numbers just aren’t adding up anymore, and as parents, we have to make the hard choice to step back and take care of what matters most at home.”
