A new craft brewery within walking distance of Ten Fifty-Five Brewing and the Nimbus Brewery is slated to open by the end of the year.

Husband-and-wife team Scott Petersen and Jen Reynard have set their sights on 3669 E. 44th Street, on the northwest corner of East 44th and South Dodge Blvd, to serve as home to their new venture, dubbed Green Feet Brewing.

Green Feet will run a three-barrel system with three to six different types of beers, including a hefeweizen, an IPA and seasonal brews, available at any given time.

Initially, Petersen and Reynard were looking for something on the east side of Tucson, where Reynard grew up and where they both live and work.

Petersen is a Special Missions Aviator flying with the Air Force Reserves at Davis-Monthan and a Subject Matter Expert supporting the Combat Search and Rescue office of the Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Test Center. Reynard is a graphic and web designer.

“People tend to ignore the east side, but we love it,” Reynard said.

Unfortunately for the couple, proper zoning proved to be a challenge.

“There weren’t many options on this side of town for what we needed,” Petersen said. “We didn’t want to have to deal with variations for zoning. We didn’t want to deal with serving food. We are not a restaurant.”

Instead, they chose an area already bustling with creative craft options.

In addition to Ten Fifty-Five and Nimbus, the industrial neighborhood is also home to Yellow Brick Coffee and the Three Wells Distilling Company.

“It is a quick trip from there to downtown and a quick trip to the east side,” Reynard said. “I think it is going to be a good spot for us.”

The idea to open a brewery was nearly three years in the making for the couple. Petersen has long been an avid homebrew enthusiast, creating batches of beer for parties and family gatherings.

“I have military friends who can be very direct on whether they like something or not,” Petersen said. “They all seemed to like what I was doing.”

When open, Green Feet will feature a tasting room and will play host to a regular rotation of food trucks.

The plan is to eventually expand the operation so the brewery can distribute to restaurants and bars throughout the state.

“If we manage to become one of the regional guys, then more power to us,” Petersen said.
