Janos Wilder Hosts Downtown Chef’s Table Charity Event March 6

Feb 25, 20162 min read

Downtown Chef’s Table will hold its second charitable event on Sunday, March 6 at Janos Wilder’s Carriage House. The dinner will celebrate the restaurants of downtown Tucson and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recently announced City of Gastronomy award.

The night will begin with a variety of craft cocktails and appetizers, and dinner will follow with multiple courses and wine. Prior to each meal, the participating chefs will inform guests of the inspiration behind their creations.

The original Downtown Chef’s Table was held in October 2014, and sold out completely. The new location, Carriage House, will accommodate up to 150 guests, in comparison to the 100-person capacity in 2014. Chef Janos Wilder, founder of Downtown Chef’s Table, expressed his excitement towards the second event.

“We are thrilled to be hosting the second annual Downtown Chef’s Table at The Carriage House and to celebrate Tucson’s designation as UNESCO City of Gastronomy. I can’t wait to have all of these talented chefs in our kitchen bringing their skill to bear promoting downtown and Tucson as a whole as we raise money for the Fox Theatre and Tu Nidito.”

This year, guests can look forward to a number of chefs and owners participating in the event, including Janos Wilder and Jerry Alday of DOWNTOWN Kitchen + Cocktails, Erika Bostick of Agustin Kitchen, Carlotta Flores of El Charro, Kris Vrolijk of Proper, Chris Bianco of Pizzeria Bianco, Daniel Thomas of 47 Scott, Patricia Schwabe of Penca, Michael Bryer of Maynards Market & Kitchen, and Tyler Fenton of Reilly Craft Pizza and Drink.

The event will begin at 5:30pm at Chef Janos Wilder’s Carriage House. Tickets run $150 per person. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Tu Nidito and the Fox Tucson Theatre, two non-profit organizations in Tucson.

To purchase tickets to the March 6 event, visit the Downtown Chef’s Table Facebook page for more information.

@Sonoranrestaurantweek runs from September 4 through 13, 2026, and it’s the perfect excuse to pair a day of Tucson sightseeing with a prix fixe meal. Since the Old Pueblo packs desert trails, historic missions, art districts, and a UNESCO City of Gastronomy designation into one metro area, visitors can easily build a full day around any interest and land near a Restaurant Week stop when it’s time to eat.

Swipe to see six itineraries built around Tucson’s core attractions, each paired with nearby restaurants participating in this year’s event. Menus and prices are subject to change, so it’s worth confirming details on the Sonoran Restaurant Week website before heading out.@Sonoranrestaurantweek runs from September 4 through 13, 2026, and it’s the perfect excuse to pair a day of Tucson sightseeing with a prix fixe meal.
