There are tons of fun foodie happenings around the East End of downtown Tucson this summer. Maynards Market kicks off Around the World in 118 Days Wine Tour today, which offers $10 Friday wine tastings as well as full wine dinners throughout June, July and August. Stop by the market this evening from 6-8pm to kick off the series with a sampling of five Chilean wines:

  • Nuevomundo Organic Sauvignon Blanc
  • Echevarria Unwooded Chardonnay
  • Echevarria Carmenere
  • Echevarria Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Nuevomundo Organic Cabernet/Malbec Blend

A wine tasting “bites” menu will be available and all bottles of featured wines are discounted on the evening of the tasting.

To see the full summer wine tour schedule, or to make wine dinner reservations, visit the website or stop by the Market for more info.

@Lovinspoonfulstucson is closing after more than 20 years in Tucson. Its final day of service runs on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Customers can stop in between now and Saturday for one last meal. The team plans to sell down its inventory, though it hopes to have favorite dishes available. Regular hours remain 9am-3pm through the final day.

“Running this kitchen has been a labor of love, but the numbers just aren’t adding up anymore, and as parents, we have to make the hard choice to step back and take care of what matters most at home.”
