Mojo Cuban Kitchen and Rum Bar has launched its May Rum Exploration Menu, featuring two cocktails made with Rhum Agricole, a distinct style of rum from the French Caribbean.
Unlike traditional rum, Rhum Agricole is distilled from fresh sugarcane juice rather than molasses, producing a bolder, more complex spirit with grassy, vegetal, and fruity notes. Bartenders often serve it neat or in classic cocktails.
Mojo’s May menu features two punch-style offerings. The Ti’ Punch, the national drink of Martinique, combines Neisson Agricole Blanc, muddled lime, and sugarcane syrup. The Passion Punch blends Neisson Agricole Blanc infused with house-made passion fruit pulp and ginger ale. Both cocktails complement the restaurant’s Cuban-inspired menu.
Guests can also order a Rhum Agricole Tasting Flight featuring Rhum J.M. VSOP, Clement Canne Bleue, and Neisson Agricole Blanc. The May menu runs through May 31.
Located at 1929 E. Grant Road in midtown Tucson, Mojo Cuban Kitchen and Rum Bar opened in 2022 under local owners Alison and Nick Schaffer. The scratch-made menu includes Ropa Vieja, Lechon Asado, empanadas, fried yuca, and the classic Cubano sandwich. Cocktail staples like mojitos, Cuba Libres, piña coladas, and daiquiris are available year-round, alongside locally roasted Cuban coffees and batidos, Cuban-style milkshakes.
Restaurant hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with weekend brunch served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Happy hour runs from 3-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
