Lindon Reilly has officially opened the doors to his new burger concept Thunder Bacon Burger Co. at 621 N. 4th Avenue, which is the location that previously housed The B-Line.
Around Tucson, he’s known simply as “Lindy” and made a name for himself with his first burger-focused restaurant, Lindy’s on 4th. Although he hasn’t been involved with the restaurant for years now.
So, what’s cookin’?
Reilly is going for something different, though, with Thunder Bacon Burger Co. He looked to both new and old sources for inspiration like the former Tucson burger stand Shari’s Drive-In and Los Angeles’s Tripp Burger.
“It’ll be diner-style burgers,” said Reilly. “And it will be a small and simple menu.”
The new restaurant is serving up snacks and sides like fries, tots, and sweet potato fries — coming in at a half-pound per order. However, let’s get to the good stuff and talk about the burgers, which can be substituted with vegetarian black bean smash patties. Although, Reilly cautions that it’s not a vegan kitchen.
Thunder Bacon Burger Co. Menu
- The Thunder Classic – bacon, American cheese, Thunder Sauce, lettuce, and pickles
- Thunderkush Burger – fire-roasted green chili, smoked bleu cheese, bacon, and raspberry preserves
- Shroom Burger – sauteed mushrooms, provolone cheese, Thunder Sauce, lettuce, and pickles
- Big Kahuna Burger – rum-soaked grilled pineapple, bacon, Pepper Jack cheese, grilled onions, teriyaki glaze, Thunder Sauce, lettuce, and pickles
- 520 Burger – fire-roasted green chili, Pepper Jack cheese, bacon, lettuce, Thunder Sauce, and on a chorizo burger patty
- 420 Burger – double bacon, cream cheese, Flaming Hot Cheetos, Thunder Sauce, and on a chorizo burger patty
- Farlows B.A.M.F. – whiskey bacon jam, smoked rib patty, more bacon, Pepper Jack cheese, spicy pickles, lettuce, and Thunder Sauce
- Eclipzo Burger – cream cheese, bacon, grilled onions, lettuce, spicy pickles, Thunder Sauce, and on a chorizo burger patty
Thunder Bacon Burger Co. also has bottled sodas and iced teas, draft beer on tap, and Rootbeer Floats. Plus, keep an eye out for their branded buns, equipped with a crafty lightning bolt.
When can you grab a burger?
The official hours of operation have been set, too, so you can start planning your visit. They’ll be open from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday, closed on Monday, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Tuesday – Thursday, and 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
