This Saturday September 27, from 9:00am to 1:00pm, the Arizona Department of Education with ShapeUpUs.org bring Family Engagement Day to Ventana Vista Elementary School. This year they’ve brought in Tucson Originals member restaurants to offer cooking demos to the 3,000 expected attendees.
University of Arizona mascots, Wilma and Wilbur, will be on hand to greet guests and in addition to cooking demonstrations, there will be BMX demos, scooter racing and fun giveaways.
“Many members of Tucson Originals Restaurants have kids of their own. We all truly care about the health and well being of children and families in our communities,” said Sam Alboy, president of Tucson Originals Restaurants and owner of Mamas Hawaiian Bar-B-Cue. “This event is important to us and we are very proud to be a part of it.”
