5 Points Market & Restaurant, located just south of downtown, is well known in the Tucson food scene for serving delicate and delicious farm to table dishes, such as Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, Pork Tortas and Huevos Rancheros for breakfast, brunch and lunch.

On May 2, patrons can enjoy a family-style 3-course dinner at 5 Points to benefit Tucson’s writer haven, Casa Libre En La Solana.

“While brainstorming fundraising ideas, Casa Libre’s intern, Taylor Miller, suggested we partner with Jasper [5 Points owner Jasper Ludwig] at 5 Points,” said Casa Libre founder Kristen Nelson. “Since 5 Points opened their doors, they have become a favorite brunch spot. I am there almost every weekend.”

Though the menu is under wraps, ingredients for “From Farm to Poem” will be locally sourced with meat, cheese and produce donations from Double Check Ranch, Sleeping Frog Farms, Fiore Di Capra, and Patagonia Orchards.

“Taylor solicited donations from all of the generous sponsor farms and Jasper and the rest of the 5 Points crew are donating their time and expertise to make us a 3-course family style meal,” said Nelson. “I’m really humbled by Taylor’s hard work, the willingness of the poets and musicians to share their talents, the generosity of 5 Points and all of our local farms who have shown up at a time when Casa Libre really needs their support.”

Guests will not only experience the rare opportunity to dine at 5 Points after sundown, but also be treated to live music and poetry readings by notable performers Samantha Bounkeua, Kate Haverly, Stephanie Balzer and Sommer Browning.
