The Twisted Tandoor To Open Standalone Restaurant

Indian food truck The Twisted Tandoor announced recently the opening of a brick and mortar location at 427 East Limberlost Drive.

According to the Facebook post, the husband and wife owners Mukhi Singh and Roop Singh intend to open by the first week of September.

Originally intended to be used only as a commissary for the food truck, Mukhi Singh said he decided to use the space as a full restaurant when he became aware of the full potential of the space.

Good morning Tucson,
Two and a half years ago me and my wife Roop launched The Twisted Tandoor food truck with a lot of uncertainty and apprehension, but all of your support and love took us up a path of success that we never imagined and for that we are incredibly grateful.
Due to that amazing experience and success we took another leap of faith on August 15th and got possession of the keys to our restaurant on 427 East Limberlost drive!!
We pray and hope that we can continue to deliver the same (if not better) food, service, quality and passion that you are deserving of and have the ability to present to you all a wider more interesting menu served in the comfort of a permanent spot.
Now to give you a time line on the “opening” of the restaurant –
We are in the process of getting the space ready for operation as fast as possible and are looking at the end of August to the first week of September as possible dates when we will open the doors initially for call in and pick up orders.
We are beginning to interview people for various positions from tomorrow and how soon we begin to open for sit down lunch and dinner service will be dependent on how soon we find and train staff that can service you effeciently.

José Contreras, chef and owner of @Ameliastucson, is headed to New York City to cook alongside chef Alam Méndez of Washington, D.C.‘s Apapacho Taqueria for a collaborative dinner at the James Beard Foundation’s Platform at Pier 57.

The Aug. 11 dinner will celebrate the culinary traditions of Sonora and Oaxaca through a multi course menu centered on heirloom corn, traditional masa, and coastal flavors. Guests will also enjoy a cocktail reception, Mijenta Tequila pairings, and a Q&A with both chefs. The event begins at 6:30 pm at @Pier57.nyc. Tickets are $210 for dining table seats and $250 for the chef’s counter, and are available now at Jamesbeard.org.

Although El Conquistador licenses the Hilton brand, it’s owned and operated by a local company. The culinary team sources much of its meat and produce from Arizona. 

Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or just looking for an incredible dinner with Catalina Mountain views, this spot is worth adding to your list. 🌵🌞
