After a monumental first year with over 400 guests and $65,000 raised, the Arizona Chapter of the ALS Association is hosting the second annual Bite Nite September 5.

From 6 to 10pm at the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa in the Catalina Foothills, guests are invited to an evening of delectable tastings from local restaurants, wine and craft beer tastings, live musical entertainment, as well as auctions featuring restaurant certificates and wine dinners, special mystery boxes and more.

“The patients and families living with ALS need your help to put an end to this devastating disease,” commented ALS Arizona Chapter Executive Director Taryn Norley. “Funds raised at Bite Nite help provide services and resource for approximately 75 patients in Tucson and Southern Arizona. We look forward to another wonderful event filled with awareness and funds raised.”

Though ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, was brought to the forefront of the social consciousness with the “Ice Bucket Challenge”, many are still unaware of just how devastating the disease is for those diagnosed and their families. ALS, a 100% fatal disease with no known cause, cure, or effective treatment, gives patients only 2-5 years to live. In that short time, living expenses for anyone with ALS average $200,000 annually. The Arizona chapter of the ALS Association currently serves 350 patients annually throughout the state.

Tickets to attend the event are $100/person (or $1000 for a table of 10 with guaranteed seating) and can be purchased online at bitenite.org/tucson.
