In three short years, Penca Restaurante has carved out a space for Mexico City cuisine in downtown Tucson. Now, it’s time to celebrate with a late-night third anniversary celebration.
On Tuesday, March 1 from 9 to 11pm, Penca owner Patricia Schwabe will host the party following regular dinner service. Guests can purchase small plate appetizers and signature cocktails, while enjoying live music presented by acoustic duo Brian Lopez and Gabriel Sullivan.
Penca will stop normal dinner service at 9pm and start the party menu, with various tacos, free appetizers and some Penca Party drink specials, including $3 Cerveza Carta Blanca Caguamas, Paloma Punch, and Mescal.
If you spent a good amount of time wondering where Penca actually is, you’re not alone. The exterior is noticeably lacking in signage, but once you find it, you are sure to return. Between the large windows overlooking Broadway, to the artfully industrial interior and thoughtful dishes and cocktails, it’s a draw for locals and tourists alike.
Regulars’ favorite dishes include the fresh swordfish ceviche, tacos served on house made tortillas, and various vegan and vegetarian options.
