DOWNTOWN Kitchen + Cocktails’ Cities of Gastronomy Around the Globe series continues with its third city, Phuket, Thailand.

A fellow City of Gastronomy, Phuket is known for its seafood and commercial ports resulting in varying international influence.

As a result, the menu features ingredients such as crispy catfish and wok-fried soft-shell crab. Familiar curries make an appearance with distinctive Thai ingredients such as kaffir lime leaves and tamarind.

The the pop-up dinner and class already passed, the items from the Phuket menu will be offered a la carte or as a three-course dinner for $34 per person, $38 with the Chilli Crab.

Appetizers

  • Chewy Thai Honey + Spice Spare Ribs — honey, ginger, cinnamon, pepper, soy marinade ($12)
  • Fragrant Coconut Milk Curry, Galangal, Lemongrass, Basil, Chili Soup — chicken, shiitake mushrooms, carrots + scallions ($9)
  • Crispy Catfish Salad — mango, peanuts, cilantro, lime sweet + sour ($12)

Entrees

  • Wok Fried Chilli Soft Shell Crabs — sesame rice noodles ($24)
  • Green Curry Chicken With Coconut Milk, Basil, Thai Eggplant — kaffir lime leaves, chilies, jasmine rice ($22)
  • Massaman Beef Curry — beef, coconut milk, potatoes, roasted peanuts, bay leaves, sugar, cinnamon, and tamarind sauce ($22)

Desserts

  • Thai Iced Coffee Ice Cream Sundae — coffee, condensed milk ice cream, black pepper caramel, iced coffee ($8)

Chef Wilder will also offer a cooking class and pop up dinner for each tour, which will be held at The Carriage House, 125 S. Arizona Avenue. Guests will have the chance to sample the tour’s dishes and learn about the gastronomy history from each city.
