St. Patrick’s Day is more than a day to obsess over anything green.

Although conspicuous green beer has become a widespread American tradition, the rise of craft beer has made special stouts widely available too.

While Auld Dubliner is no longer open in Tucson, Irish delicacies such as corned beef and cabbage will make their way into kitchens all over town.

1912 Brewing Company

2045 N. Forbes Blvd. #105

From 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., 1912 will feature an employee corned beef and cabbage cook-off with Irish tunes. Approximately two ounces of corned beef and cabbage will be provided from each participating employee as they compete for votes. Limited quantities will be available, so get there early.

Arizona Beer House

150 S. Kolb Rd.

From noon – midnight, Arizona Beer House will pair with the Tucson Celtic Festival and Scottish Highland Games to provide live music, Celtic dance, and more. It’s also family-friendly with a jumping castle until 9 p.m. Food trucks American Flying Buffalo and Gigi’s Fusion will be on site as well.

Canyon’s Crown Restaurant and Pub

From 10 a.m. – midnight, Canyon’s Crown is hosting their eighth St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Corned beef, $6 Guinness, and $3 green beer will be available all day. Special taps include Murphy’s Irish Stout, Kilkenny Irish Cream Ale, Magners Irish Pear Cider, Uncle Bear’s Brewery Wolfhound Irish Red Ale, and Boulder Beer’s Irish Blessing oak-aged coffee stout.

From 3 p.m. – 2 a.m., Crooked Tooth will feature The Out Of Kilters Cletic band and green beer alongside their house brews. They’re also collecting donations for Refugee Focus.

Frog & Firkin will feature green beer, Boulder Beer Company’s Irish Blessing oak-aged coffee stout, Irish stew, Guinness pot roast, and corned beef and cabbage with Guinness jus.

The festivity also includes free Irish derby hats for men and green carnations for women. Bagpipers will perform from 6 – 7 p.m. and 10 – 11 p.m.
