Goodness Skyline offers nutritious and filling cuisine in a trendy-modern hideaway before a beautiful backdrop of the Catalina Mountains.

The space at the intersection of Campbell and Skyline brings laid back California vibes — bright and airy with large windows offering an abundance of natural light with blue-green accents providing a splash of color to clean white walls and countertops.

Reminiscent of colorful towels on beach sand, the patio houses cheerful patterns of polka dots, florals, and stripes. Seating includes a variety of cozy booths dressed with pillows and cushions and several large ceiling fans, overhead heaters, and a fireplace for comfort year-round. Diners approach the register at their leisure and have their meals delivered to their tables fast-casual style.

Unlike sister restaurant Goodness Fresh Food & Juice Bar, Goodness Skyline features alcohol and a full-fledged dinner menu. Choices include items such as acai bowls, salads, grain bowls, and poultry and fish entrees. Vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free diners have several options — the menu highlights specific dishes that meet particular dietary needs and the staff is accustomed to accommodating those who would like to make adjustments to their meals.

A full liquor bar is available as well as a variety of wines and beers. The Italian Blossom ($10) cocktail pairs nicely with several of the rich entrees on the menu, featuring an astringent pink grapefruit and lemon peel that is soothed by delicate rosewater. Alternatively, the Jalapeño Watermelon Margarita ($10) is easy-drinking. Smooth and spicy with sweet, invigorating watermelon trailing each sip, exquisite enough to enjoy on its own or at the side of an entree.

For an Instagram-worthy appetizer, indulge in the Ahi Tuna Tartar ($12). Light, fresh tuna is piled onto an island of grapefruit, radish, and avocado. The tuna is delicate and buttery and the avocado serves as a lovely creamy element to absorb the soy-ginger dressing in perfect proportion. The grapefruit works well as a palate cleanser, preparing you to dive deep into each and every bite.

If you want your fish cooked, order the Roasted Beet Salmon Salad ($16). The fish is seared crisp leaving a flaky, moist, pink inside. The sear also adds a delightful crunch among the hearty roasted beets and creamy goat cheese, while crisp green apple brightens the woody-sweet walnuts. The Italian Blossom pairs nicely, cutting through the rich goat cheese and complementing the bright apple tones with notes of lemon.

The Veggie Moqueca Stew ($14) is a visual show-stopper. Black forbidden rice perches on the edge of a rich, creamy stew with a coconut milk base and packed full of sweet potatoes, zucchini, bell pepper, and onion. Garnishes include toasted almonds, cilantro greens, and chili oil, adding heat and a little crunch. The mild pepper burn is quickly sweetened by the coconut and cut by the cilantro greens.
