Approximately 10 weeks after officially opening on January 15 of 2018, Old Pueblo Grille successor Abuela’s Cocina Mexicana has closed indefinitely.

The space at 60 N. Alvernon Way remained vacant for about two-and-a-half years between the two tenants.

Partner Jorge Alvarez and Brother John’s Beer, Bourbon & BBQ owners David and John Aldecoa opened Abuela’s.

Some time between Wednesday and Thursday, the Facebook page for Abuela’s was removed. Additionally, abuelascocina.com now redirects to Brother John’s website.

David Aldecoa could not be reached for comment by the time of article publication.
