Whether you call it football or soccer, here's where to watch the World Cup bright and early

Nothing like watching a game at the bar.

While the World Cup would have TV priority at most establishments, this year’s Russia location makes most of the games inconveniently early for Americans — like 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. early.

While it’s a no-go to drink at 3 a.m., some local joints are opening as early as 4:30 a.m. to accommodate the need for watching the World Cup in a social setting with booze. Here’s the list.

Casino Del Sol

5655 W. Valencia Rd.

At 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 17, Casino Del Sol will start with the pre-game show for Mexico vs. Germany with the following specials until the end of the game:

  • $3 Breakfast Burrito
  • $3 Bud Light & Michelob Ultra 16-ounce drafts
  • $3 Bud, Bud Light, & Michelob Ultra 16-ounce aluminums
  • $3 Estrella Jalisco 12-ounce bottles
  • $3 Shots of 3 Amigos Tequila & Margaritas

The Frozen Cactus Ice Bar & Flame Grill

5769 E. Speedway Blvd.

Formerly RJ’s Replays before the Bar Rescue renovation, Frozen Cactus will open at 9 a.m. from Thursday, June 14 through Sunday, June 17 with a breakfast menu available.

Gentle Ben’s

  • Huevos Rancheros
  • Breakfast Burrito
  • German Pancake
  • German Brat Skillet

They’ll show the Brazil and Switzerland game afterwards.

While Ghini’s is far from a sports bar, they’re passionate about the World Cup and already open early. They’ll offer brunch happy hour 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. daily along with $1 off Russian Mimosas

Negro Modelo USA drafts will be on special for $5 and Modelo Especial cans will be $4 during all World Cup games. Additionally, Playground will offer breakfast specials.

Sir Veza’s Kitchen & Kantina

220 W. Wetmore Rd.

Sir Veza’s is another option open on Sunday, June 17 for Mexico vs. Germany, but at 7:30 a.m.

Specials include $3 20-ounce drafts of Modelo and $14 buckets of 5 Coronas. DJ Zeta will be on site for music.

Since it’s also Father’s Day, dads get half-off tacos with the purchase of a regular priced entree.
