Unresolved landlord issues were cited as the primary reason for closure.

Sir Veza’s Kitchen & Kantina announced the suspension of their location at the Tucson Mall, 220 W. Wetmore Rd.

The Mexican restaurant posted a statement on their Facebook page Sunday:

Although unresolved landlord issues were cited as the primary reason for closure, the statement remained ambiguous as to whether or not the location would reopen.

“While there is a possibility that we will once again open our doors here should the issue be remedied or perhaps elsewhere nearby, it is best, for now, to say to all of you; Keep on Truckin’ and Happy Holidays,” the statement said.

Ray Flores, president of Sir Veza’s parent company Flores Concepts, was unable to elaborate on the landlord issues further.

The original Sir Veza’s location at 4699 E. Speedway Blvd closed mid-2016 after seven years in operation. Locations remain at the Tucson International Airport, Talking Stick Resort Arena, Chandler Fashion Center, Sky Harbor International Airport, and Baltimore-Washington Airport.
