Sharpen your skills or perhaps learn something new.

The sharper the skills, the potential of making your meal more magnificent than ever.

The Garden Kitchen is hosting their first hands-on knife skills cooking class of the new year from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 25.

Could your “knife skills” use a little work?

The class is going to teach you some of the basic knife skills and also practice more fundamental cuts — like a mince, dice, brunoise, bâtonnet, and julienne.  You’ll even get to practice cutting large food items like a head of cabbage, herbs, and onions.

Aside from all of the slicing and dicing, you’ll walk away with an idea of how to maintain and keep your knives sharp, along with shopping tips for cost-effective produce purchasing.

(GMT-07:00)

Each seat in the class is $55 per person and includes a light Mexican-style lunch and ingredients to take home for dinner.

The Garden Kitchen is located at 2205 S. Fourth Ave. For more information on the class, call (520) 621-0476 or visit thegardenkitchen.org.
