Another Tucson chef wins Guy's Grocery Games.

Tucson knows how to slay it on the Food Network. Geronimo’s Revenge owner and executive chef Mo Madril competed on an episode of Guy’s Grocery Games on Wednesday night; he won.

“I’m excited,” Madril said. “Absolutely just stoked. A crazy opportunity that fell upon me. Absolutely mind blowing.”

The Parish owner and executive chef Travis Peters also competed on Guy’s Grocery Games in 2018 and won as well.

Each episode of the show features four chefs gathering ingredients in a grocery store to cook a dish assigned by Fieri while he presents obstacles and challenges. The winner competes in a bonus round where they can win up to $20,000.

For Madril’s winning episode, he whipped up two dishes. One was a spicy take on Singapore noodles with pepperoncini chip-crusted shrimp, grilled chile güerito, and fresh cilantro. The other was was a take on fish and chips with curry and tamarindo-marinated, Sapporo beer-battered cod along with yuca chips.

While Smell-O-Vision still isn’t a common household device, you can still get a taste of Madril’s winning dishes. This weekend, his curry tamarindo fish and chips will be on special at the food truck. The full menu will be available at one of the weekly Wednesday pop-up dinners with Geronimo’s Revenge and Shifty’s Pizza at Thunder Canyon Brewery. Stay tuned for a date.
