Ears to a great Easter

It’s that time of year again when shades of pink, yellow, and other powdery colors tend to take over wardrobes, decorations, and festive candy. Easter is this weekend and if you’re still deciding on where to dine, we’ve got a list of restaurants showing some spirit.

However, if you’re looking for some unique Easter-themed desserts, you and your appetite have come to the right place.

HUB Ice Cream Parlor has created four festive ice cream flavors and a special ice cream sandwich kit just in time for the holiday.

For a limited time, the new flavors will be available for you to taste at 245 E. Congress St. Plus, the ice cream sandwich kits could make for a pretty fun weekend with the whole family.

Easter ice cream flavors

  • Chocolate Bunny – Belgian chocolate ice cream with swirls of house-made caramel sauce and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
  • Easter Basket – vanilla ice cream (colored turquoise) with Easter candy pieces: Snickers, Twix, Kit Kat, Milky Way, and jelly beans
  • Peeps – toasted marshmallow ice cream (colored pink and yellow) with blue and purple Peeps
  • Peter Rabbit – carrot juice, guava puree, and pineapple juice sorbet made with our simple syrup with a bit of fresh lemon juice (vegan)

Ice cream sandwich kits ($24)

  • One pint of Easter ice cream or sorbet (Peter Rabbit Sorbet, Easter Basket ice cream, Peeps ice cream, or Chocolate Bunny ice cream)
  • Eight sugar cookies (four spring colors)
  • Three pastry bags of royal frosting
  • A packet of edible grass
  • Packets of spring sprinkles
