“Flavortown” is coming out of the screen and happening in real life this Sunday in Glendale, Arizona before the Super Bowl.
The Flavortown Tailgate is hosting Arizona restaurant pop-ups that have all been featured on “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives” — most just call it Triple-D. The Tucson restaurants joining and representing the incredible cuisine Tucson offers are Renee’s, Tumerico, and Inca’s Peruvian Cuisine, which will be serving the Lomo Saltado — a featured dish at Guy Fieri’s big event.
“Our restaurant was featured on a ‘Triple-D’ episode in 2019,” said Fatima Campos of Inca’s Peruvian Cuisine. “They invited us to participate at the tailgate and it’s a privilege that Guy Fieri gave us this important selection.”
“On the day of the Super Bowl, we will be open from 11:30 until 4 p.m.,” she said. “It’s within walking distance of the stadium.” The big tailgate party is across the street from State Farm Stadium (where the Super Bowl is happening) at 9191 Cardinals Way in Glendale.
Also, if you’re not heading up to Phoenix for the Super Bowl, like many of us here in Tucson, Inca’s Peruvian Cuisine is one of the many local restaurants offering meals to enjoy at home. Inca’s is now taking orders for its famous Lomo Saltado dish as a giant to-go platter for $59.99.
“We are making it in a much larger portion so everybody can enjoy watching the Super Bowl and enjoy the Lomo Saltado at the same time,” said Campos.
You oughta act fast, though, because the big game is right around the corner and you’ll need to get your order in by Saturday, February 11.
Inca’s Peruvian Cuisine is located at 6878 E. Sunrise Dr. #130. For more information, visit incasperuviancuisine.com. Check out our article, “3 Local restaurants join ‘Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Tailgate’ in Phoenix.”
