Cheers to 8 Years! Tucson Hop Shop is Hosting an Anniversary Block Party

"We have truly found a family in the Tucson beer community."

Eight years ago, the team at Tucson Hop Shop tapped into their first keg, cracked open a can, and the sound of a cork poppin’ out of a wine bottle echoed throughout the taproom. I don’t have enough fingers to count the times I’ve recommended Hop Shop as a must-visit beverage destination.

How has it already been eight years?!

“Being able to serve Tucson’s beer-loving community has been an amazing experience,” said David Zugerman, co-owner. “We have met so many phenomenal people, and had the pleasure to serve and consume some of the best beers ever! We have had fun evolving our business over time, and the opportunities we’ve had to use Hop Shop to support causes that are important to us and our customers.”

From 5 – 9 p.m. on Friday, September 29, the crew is celebrating Hop Shop’s eight-year anniversary with a Metal Village (formerly Metal Arts Village) block party at 3230 N. Dodge Blvd.

They’re including their Metal Village neighbors, too, since it’s Humble & Grand Tattoo’s Grand Opening, Craft Collective Salon’s one-year anniversary, and Beauty Blvd’s Grand Opening. This means you can wander into all of the Metal Village studios with your beverage of choice.

“We can’t think of a better way to celebrate our eight years of business than throwing a party with our Metal Village neighbors,” said Jessie Mance, co-owner. “We haven’t hosted a big Village-wide event in a long time, and the complex has evolved quite a bit since we got here in 2015. We love the lively businesses our friends in these studios have brought to the Village, and they are just awesome people to share a space with. We can’t wait to celebrate with them! Hopefully, this will be the dawn of a new era of Metal Village community gatherings.”

Also, during the anniversary party, several local businesses will be set up around the premises. Cute & Classy Krispies will be posted up at Tucson Hop Shop, La La Links Permanent Jewelry can be found at Craft Collective Salon, and Beauty Blvd will be hosting three vendors: Chez Peachy (bento cakes and pastries), Desert & Stone (polymer jewelry and accessories), and Candles by Lex.

Oh, and even more food will be available right across the patio at Ciao Down and in the parking lot from You Sly Dog.

“We have truly found a family in the Tucson beer community,” said Mance. “It is such a special and unique network, and all of us Hop Shoppers are honored to be a part of it. It feels very good to have thrived in this business for eight years, and to have made the lifelong friends and connections that we have along the way.”

So, cheers to the Hop Shop and many more years to come!
