‘Tis the season for helping those in need! The Tucson Racquet & Fitness Club’s “Hope and Healing for the Holidays Toy Drive” will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 14 and Thursday, December 21.

Santa Claus will even be there to receive any unwrapped toys for the drive. There are rumors a well-known local chef will be wearing the big red suit…

“In the spirit of the season we hope that everyone will join us in making the holidays bright for some very special kids,” said Rovella Ruscitti, the Tucson Racquet & Fitness Club food and beverage director.

The Hope and Healing for the Holidays toy drive is being held in partnership with the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southern Arizona. The advocacy center focuses on helping children who have been victims or witnesses to a crime. The toys will be distributed to the children the organization works with.

“Visit with Santa for some holiday cheer and get a bite to eat before exploring the beautiful holiday lights at nearby Winterhaven,” Ruscitti added.

What to eat

The Tucson Racquet & Fitness Club has a membership program but non-members are always welcome to eat at the facility’s restaurants, the Rillito Room and the Clubhouse.

The Rillito Room is a breakfast- and lunch-focused location with daily specials and views of the club grounds. Its menu features items including, but not limited to, huevos rancheros, waffles, avocado toast, and potato pancakes. The Rillito Room is open for lunch on weekdays and offers breakfast on the weekends.

The Clubhouse is a casual sports bar experience. Serving up salads, sandwiches, pizza, wings, and even half racks of ribs. Open for dinner during the week with the addition of lunch on the weekends.
