Roadrunner Coffee Co. has been on a tear as of late when it comes to expanding into new areas around town.
The very first Roadrunner Coffee shop opened on the northwest side of town back in 2008, serving hand-crafted espresso and coffee drinks, smoothies, Italian sodas, sandwiches, and pastries. In 2021, the crew leaped and opened up its first drive-thru stand for those on the run, and then another drive-thru opened in November 2023 on Alvernon Way.
The newest spot is set to open in between Perche’ No and JA Ramen in downtown Tucson near the corner of Congress Street and Church Avenue.
“Our amazing general manager Darian lives downtown and he’s always spoken about how great the vibe is down there,” said Darren Mills of Roadrunner Coffee Co. “The art, murals, restaurants, hotels, architecture, history, and culture all come together to create a great atmosphere that we’re proud to be a part of.”
There’s no exact opening date just yet but they’re aiming for the earlier half of 2024.
“My business partner Brandon and I are excited for the opportunity to expand to downtown Tucson and our team is equally excited to serve locally roasted hand-crafted coffee drinks, energy drinks, locally baked fresh pastries, breakfast items, and more,” Mills added. “We appreciate the Tucson community for their continued support of local small businesses and look forward to serving them from our new Congress Street location soon!”
Meanwhile, stop by one of the three other Roadrunner Coffee locations: 9665 N. Thornydale Rd. #110, 1545 W. Wetmore Rd. (drive-thru only), and 1612 N. Alvernon Rd. (drive-thru only).
