Wee-ooo, wee-ooo, wee-ooo! Wing alert, wing alert!
Happy wing Wednesday! As the weather changed drastically, so did the location where I ate these wings. The weather went from over 100 degrees to the low 70s and I went from tasting wings at private residences to festivals, food courts, and restaurants. I didn’t do much tricking but had a few treats this Hallo-Wing season.
I was referred to this spot by the owner of Pacaw’s Wings and Things (their Top 15 favorite wings) so I knew these were going to be great. I reached out to the owner of Smoke N Ace BBQ (Jimmy) over social media and then called in an order.
I purchased Buffalo and lemon pepper wet wings. The lemon pepper wings are now one of my new favorites. Even though I’m not a huge fan of lemon pepper, the quality of the meat and the combination of creamy sauce on top with lemon garnish really makes for an outstanding wing.

This Folklife festival is all about celebrating different cultures in Tucson through food, music, dance, and arts. Tucson Meet Yourself is one of my favorite events every year and it’s also a big foodie event people have dubbed “Tucson Meet Yourself.”
So, I scoured the festival grounds and found three vendors dishing up chicken wings. CP’s Wings, one of my all-time favorites, was there and I recommend stamping your food passport there anytime you spot them in Tucson.

This big red barnyard has great fried wings in homemade sauces. I tried four different sauces including horseradish buffalo, maple bourbon, General Tso’s, and their “Tucson version” of barbeque. All of them were very tasty!
The venue itself is big and comfortable for all ages with indoor and outdoor spaces for kids to run around and play. If you’re on the east side, check out this place and bring plenty of family, friends, and your appetite.

I noticed the Park Place Mall’s food court has more local spots than chains. So, I had to check out Oh My Chicken for its Korean-style chicken wings. I chose their chili hot wings, which were very crispy with juicy meat. Their Korean-style sauces are made from scratch, and the wings come with a housemade dipping sauce.
I love the accessibility and proximity to all of the shopping, the movie theatre, and Tucson’s newest and largest mural right outside. There’s more than one reason to check out these delicious wings.

I have had so many different proteins from this restaurant like gator, bacon-wrapped frog legs, crawfish, shrimp, and others, but never chicken wings. That is, until Halloween!
I saw on social media that The Parish was making spooky “bat” wings. Dining in on All Hallows’ Eve, the wings perfectly fit the mood. Similar to a bat wing that was hacked off in a scene from a slasher movie, these wings were charcoal-battered, whole-fried, and slathered in a red, sweet, and spicy “vampire blood” sauce.
I channeled my inner Ozzy Osbourne and dug in my teeth, ripping the wing apart like a rabid animal. It was gory and disturbing. But after everything was said and done, the wing tasted great and the creativity of the dish was a 10/10.
