Wee-ooo, wee-ooo, wee-ooo! Wing alert, wing alert!
Baseball season is here, and all the wings I’ve eaten have been home runs. Also, I need to give a shout-out to PersNIKKIty’s Café in Show Low, Arizona, for their terrific wings.

BZ’s have award-winning wings — their three-foot trophy summed up that I was in for something special.
Marinated, baked, then fried to order is music to my ears. The meat was so tender, packed with flavor, and the house-made sauces are fantastic. I recommend getting their garlic parm, which is a wet sauce. If you’re looking for some spice, go with their house-made barbecue sauce, which has a sweet honey mustard feel.

Located in the Oro Valley Marketplace. Charred Pie is a fan favorite for northern Tucson residents.
Known for its pizza, the restaurant has incredible Korean chicken wings — tequila marinated, then fried extra crispy. The wings have a light Korean barbecue sauce with a drizzle of aioli, and then are garnished with green onion and sesame seeds.

This is a very cool sports bar with delicious food, $2 “beer of the day” specials, and friendly/knowledgeable staff. What’s not to like?
They make some great homemade sauces, like their House Hot AF, which brings a delicious Buffalo flavor combined with a decent heat. They also have an umami flavor that I must return to! The wings themselves, though, are crispy and presented nicely on the plate.
