Starting Monday, Sept. 29, Charro Chico at 3699 N. Campbell Ave. will transition into Si Charro Catering Kitchen & Charro Chico. The restaurant will shift its focus to catering while still serving lunch.
According to catering director Candace Carrillo, the space offers a better setup for the company’s growing catering needs. Clients include University of Arizona athletics and local elementary schools that rely on daily meal programs. To make room for expanded catering operations, Charro Chico will now serve 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The restaurant will no longer open for dinner.
“We simply need to have more kitchen space for our growing catering needs and it’s a better business decision than to keep the space open at night when most people prefer a sit-down meal experience for dinner versus this counter service model,” Carrillo said
Meanwhile, Charro Chico will refine its menus to focus on affordable lunch options. Guests can order for pickup or delivery, keeping the fast-casual model intact during daytime hours.
Si Charro Catering offers regional and international cuisines, in addition to family recipes. The kitchen also features a bakery department, adding fresh bread and pastries to the lineup.
