Snakes & Lattes — a board game cafe chain that got its start in Toronto — is moving into the spot that previously housed American Apparel at 988 E. University Blvd.
The new cafe, which is a play on words for Snakes and Ladders, opened its first U.S. location in Tempe back in 2018, and has since opened up another in Chicago. Tucson is next in line, though, and it should easily fit in on Main Gate Square.
It’s hard to say what we can expect from the Tucson location, but some of the locations contain a collection of 1,000 to 3,000 different games to choose from while enjoying your beverage of choice.
The menu has yet to be released but the Tempe location offers variants of coffee, cocktails, draft beer, and wine. Additionally, there’s an abundance of dining options, like burgers, wraps, mac and cheese, flatbread pizza, salads, and desserts.
Once the site for the Tucson location is updated, there will be a game list available online in order to plan out the perfect board game battle with your friends.
Since the cafe is planning to open in April, they’re hiring for full-time and part-time.
