How Do I Love Anello?

Let me count the ways.

I love thee for your pies.

I love thee for your slow, intimate vibes.

I love thee for your commitment to local ingredients.

I love your aesthetic, which I think of as “Japanese disobedience.”

I love thee for your wines.

I love thee for your signs (or lack thereof, really).

I love thee for your vegetables.

I love your menu. So legible. So accessible.

I love your modicity.

I love your simplicity.

I love thee for your wood ceiling.

And I love thee for that warm, fuzzy feeling I get when I stop by.

For a sweet, delicious pie.

Scott — Thank you for kicking butt and being consistent. The fact that Anello still feels like a secret blows my mind. I’ll keep bringing my friends and families by to blow their minds about the culinary scene in Tucson, of which you are solidly at the top, my friend.

Like Bethany Harms wrote in my middle school yearbook: Never change. But if you do, I’ll still love you. Call me over the summer.

Here are some amazing photos of Anello from local photographer, Anna Smirnova:

Anello is located at 222 E. Sixth St. For more information, visit anello.space.
