Brunch Must-Have of the Week: Churro French Toast

Brunch Must-Have of the Week: Churro French Toast

Apr 5, 20191 min read

If you think we’ve been talking about Tito & Pep too much lately, you’re probably right. But they’ve impressed us consistently since opening half a year ago.

Although dinner is the star there (click here for spring menu updates), don’t sleep on their brunch. One brunch dish was in our Best Things We Tasted This Month article in both February and March.

While ‘churro’ is used liberally on menus as an adjective for something with cinnamon sugar, Tito & Pep’s Churro French Toast lives up to its name with a satisfying fried churro crunch as well. The roasted ripe mango adds and whipped cream complements the richness and sweetness while adding subtle lightness.

Tito & Pep is located at 4122 E. Speedway Blvd. For more information, visit titoandpep.com.

Stop in for Flaming Chili Oil, Walnut Shrimp, chow fun, or sautéed green beans finished with Sichuan peppercorns. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.

@Lovinspoonfulstucson is closing after more than 20 years in Tucson. Its final day of service runs on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Customers can stop in between now and Saturday for one last meal. The team plans to sell down its inventory, though it hopes to have favorite dishes available. Regular hours remain 9am-3pm through the final day.

“Running this kitchen has been a labor of love, but the numbers just aren’t adding up anymore, and as parents, we have to make the hard choice to step back and take care of what matters most at home.”
