Fresh Pasta to Paella: September Classes at Cuisine Classique

Aug 26, 20251 min read

Cuisine Classique Cooking School will host 12 cooking classes throughout September 2025. The lineup covers everything from pickled peppers to artisan breads, giving Tucson home cooks a chance to expand their skills.

Signature classes with Mardi

Chef Mardi brings back her favorite classes this month. Fresh Pasta runs on September 17, Pizza Rustica on September 24, and Paella on September 26. Each session emphasizes technique, timing, and flavor development in a relaxed setting.

Weekend focus on gourmet basics

Every Saturday, the school continues its Basics of Gourmet Cooking series. Students will focus on meats September 6, grains and greens on September 13, eggs on September 20, and desserts on September 27. The series helps beginners build strong fundamentals while giving seasoned cooks fresh inspiration.

More specialty sessions

The Hatch Green Chilies class returns September 9. Knife Skills is set for September 10, and Sweet Breakfast Pastries follows on September 23. These classes target essential techniques that elevate both home and professional kitchens.

September open house

From 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, Cuisine Classique invites the community to its monthly open house. Visitors can tour the kitchens, meet instructors, and learn about upcoming programs. The school hosts open houses every third Thursday except in October and May.

Cuisine Classique Cooking School is located at 1060 W. Magee Rd. For more information and to register, visit cuisineclassique.com.

Cafe Francais, the French bakery known for its scratch-made croissants and kouign-amann, is closing for good. Owners Noelle and Daniel Martinez announced the closure on Instagram Wednesday afternoon, ending a seven-year run that began on Tucson’s east side.

“Thank you, Tucson, for one hell of a crazy, amazing, and sometimes terrible 7-year ride. We’ve truly loved it all, the good, the bad, and the difficult.”
