The Parish Gastropub will be celebrating five years in business on Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22.

The two-day celebration will feature live music from rhythm and blues pianist and singer Mr. Boogie Woogie from 9 p.m. to midnight on Friday. And on Saturday night, guests can enjoy Wooden Tooth Records spinning vinyl from 9:30 p.m. to midnight.

The Parish shares a strong dedication to local artists and has featured over 20 artists’ work throughout the restaurant.

“We’re fortunate enough in Tucson to have some of the most talented artists and musicians,” co-owner Steve Dunn said. “It has always been important to us to make sure we highlight these folks when at all possible.”

Additionally, The Parish is launching a weekend brunch menu on Saturday, October 29. Brunch will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“We’re crazy excited to begin our new brunch menu,” executive chef and co-owner Travis Peters said. “It’ll feature classic favorites such as Southern Style Baked Eggs and Croque Madame, but the newest item that we’re most excited about is the Smoked Pork Benedict,” he said.

From five years ago to today, The Parish has been dedicated to bringing Southern flavor to Arizona, and is actually known as the only “southern fusion gastropub” in the city.

“Our goal is to create a sense of community and a gathering place through our cuisine and atmosphere,” co-owner Bryce Zeagler said. “Tucson is filled with fantastic restaurants, but we really wanted to create a southern restaurant that would bring the best fresh, down home, local cuisine to Tucson.”

“The best southern restaurants know that good food and great people make a fantastic meal,” he said.

The Parish offers signature southern-style dishes with local ingredients, including The Tchoup, which is a massive tender double bone-in pork chop, sweet tea brined, and mesquite smoked with adobo barbecue sauce.

The restaurant also offers a bar, featuring handcrafted cocktails and over 40 different craft beers.

The Parish is currently open 11 a.m to midnight Tuesday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Monday. Find them at 6453 N. Oracle Rd.

@Jundynasty has served Sichuan dishes on Grant Road for 13 years.🌶️

General manager Jacob Yeung credits one idea above all: “We’ve grown since then, but the key has always been consistency.”

Stop in for Flaming Chili Oil, Walnut Shrimp, chow fun, or sautéed green beans finished with Sichuan peppercorns. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.

@Lovinspoonfulstucson is closing after more than 20 years in Tucson. Its final day of service runs on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Customers can stop in between now and Saturday for one last meal. The team plans to sell down its inventory, though it hopes to have favorite dishes available. Regular hours remain 9am-3pm through the final day.

“Running this kitchen has been a labor of love, but the numbers just aren’t adding up anymore, and as parents, we have to make the hard choice to step back and take care of what matters most at home.”
