Jun Dynasty

Jun Dynasty has served Tucson’s midtown neighborhood since 2013, offering traditional Sichuan cooking made from scratch with a focus on consistency and reasonable prices. Owners Jojo Chan and Edwin Hui, both with backgrounds in real estate and automotive industries, opened the restaurant with the goal of creating a space where families could explore authentic Chinese cuisine alongside familiar favorites. The team of more than 30 employees includes several longtime staff members, many of whom have stayed for over a decade. The Flaming Chili Oil series leads the menu, delivering Sichuan heat and numbing spice across a range of protein choices, including tofu. The chow fun, a stir-fry of wide, flat rice noodles, ranks among the most-ordered dishes, alongside the Walnut Shrimp, which pairs freshly fried shrimp with a creamy house-made sauce. Sautéed green beans, cooked over high heat in a wok with Sichuan peppercorns and doubanjiang, draw consistent repeat orders for their deceptive simplicity. General manager Jacob Yeung recommends the Firecracker Chicken or Shrimp as the best starting point for diners new to Sichuan flavors.

@Jundynasty has served Sichuan dishes on Grant Road for 13 years.🌶️

General manager Jacob Yeung credits one idea above all: “We’ve grown since then, but the key has always been consistency.”

Stop in for Flaming Chili Oil, Walnut Shrimp, chow fun, or sautéed green beans finished with Sichuan peppercorns. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.

@Lovinspoonfulstucson is closing after more than 20 years in Tucson. Its final day of service runs on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Customers can stop in between now and Saturday for one last meal. The team plans to sell down its inventory, though it hopes to have favorite dishes available. Regular hours remain 9am-3pm through the final day.

“Running this kitchen has been a labor of love, but the numbers just aren’t adding up anymore, and as parents, we have to make the hard choice to step back and take care of what matters most at home.”
