Food Conspiracy Co-op Eat Local Challenge

June 29, 2014
By Adam Lehrman

July is an excellent time of year to eat foods grown in and around Tucson. Along with tomatoes, basil, squash, melons, and garlic, it’s usually not difficult to find greens, apples, and peaches, too.

To raise awareness and encourage more people to eat locally, the Food Conspiracy Co-op is promoting an Eat Local Challenge.

From July 1 -14, the co-op will offer 10% off all locally grown produce along with a different daily Conspiracy Kitchen item.

As an added bonus, If you’re a locavore that also happens to be on Instagram, you can snap a pic of what you whipped up or grew, post it to Instagram, tag it with #TucsonEatsLocal and be entered to win a $100 gift card, Tucson Cooks cookbook, and co-op pint glass.

While you’re at it, tag it #TucsonFoodie, too, ’cause, you know… you are. 😉

Some of the items you’ll find on sale at the Food Conspiracy Co-op during the challenge:

  • Sleeping Frog Farms
  • Forever Yong Farms
  • Isabella’s Ice Cream
  • Not So Gringo Salsa
  • Julie Bars
  • La Tauna Tortillas
  • Tucson Tamale Co.
  • Zen Hens eggs
  • Rex’s Perogies
  • Much more

For more information, visit the Food Conspiracy Co-op on the web. To keep up with their daily Conspiracy Kitchen item, follow them on Facebook or Twitter.
