July is an excellent time of year to eat foods grown in and around Tucson. Along with tomatoes, basil, squash, melons, and garlic, it’s usually not difficult to find greens, apples, and peaches, too.
To raise awareness and encourage more people to eat locally, the Food Conspiracy Co-op is promoting an Eat Local Challenge.
From July 1 -14, the co-op will offer 10% off all locally grown produce along with a different daily Conspiracy Kitchen item.
As an added bonus, If you’re a locavore that also happens to be on Instagram, you can snap a pic of what you whipped up or grew, post it to Instagram, tag it with #TucsonEatsLocal and be entered to win a $100 gift card, Tucson Cooks cookbook, and co-op pint glass.
While you’re at it, tag it #TucsonFoodie, too, ’cause, you know… you are. 😉
