Mexican Independence Day Dinner at Penca

Need last minute dinner plans? How about last minute dinner plans at one of downtown Tucson’s most intimate restaurants with a killer drink and food menu to boot?

Tonight, Penca is featuring a four course Mexican Independence Day Tasting menu for $45. Each course is paired with one of Penca’s delicately crafted cocktails (except for the first course which features sparkling Malvasia).

Here’s what you’ll get:

First Course

  • Chilled Corn Soup with Cilantro Oil. Paired with Sparkling Malvasia

Second Course

  • Pickled Beet and Nopal Salad with Pepitas and Cotija. Paired with Blanco Tequila, Apple shrub, sherry, and orange

Third Course (Choice of One)

  • Stuffed Squash with Black Bean Puree and Grilled Nopal
  • Pan Seared Mahi Mahi with Mole Amarilo
  • Ancho Glazed Short ribs with Red Hominy
  • Paired with Reposado, brandy, port, Peychaud’s bitters

Dessert (Choice of One)

  • Mescal and lime granita
  • Mini Churro with Chocolate Grenache
