Introducing the 2014 World Margarita Champions

Tequila certainly has a way of splitting a crowd. Especially the crowd of thirsty attendees at the World Margarita Championship.

The 9th Annual event was hosted by the Southern Arizona Arts and Culture Allience (SAACA) on October 18th. If you weren’t able to attend, we’ve got the important details regarding which margaritas won and who made them. Now you can hunt them down at their day jobs and see the drink-making masters in action.

A highlight of this year’s championship was the selection of seasonal margaritas, such as Gourmet Girls Gluten Free Bakery/Bistro‘s French bread dipped in chocolate ganache, topped with spiced pumpkin seeds, and Shlomo & Vito’s New York Delicatessen & Pizza Kitchen‘s October Halloween Candy Corn Margarita.

Judges Choice

  • First Place – Casino del Sol Resort’s Aaron DeFeo, Senor Yakuza
  • Second Place – Agustin Kitchen’s Ciaran Wiese, Vagabond

People’s Choice

  • First Place – Le Rendez-Vous’s Chelsea Hendryk, Bleeding Frenchman
  • Second Place – Marinaterra Hotel & Spa’s Julio Blanco, Margarita Mar de Cortes
