Non-Dairy, Cashew-Based Ice Cream Parlor, Cashew Cow To Open December 15

December 11, 2014
By Adam Lehrman

On Monday, December 15, Tucson will become home to the first cashew-based ice cream parlor, Cashew Cow at 16 South Eastbourne Avenue in the Broadway Village. Except, it’s not really ice cream.

Cashew Cow is a non-dairy, cashew-based alternative to ice cream. But, don’t roll your eyes just yet. If you’ve ever tasted any of the numerous varieties of non-dairy ice cream on the market made from almonds, coconut, and soy, you know that some are better than others, but for the most part, they aren’t that satisfying. Cashew Cow is different. You seriously won’t believe you’re not eating traditional ice cream made from dairy.

“Whether someone can eat regular ice cream or not, I think they will love Cashew Cow,” says owner, Jennifer Newman. “We think the product and flavors we’ve developed are delicious and can hold their own next to any type of ice cream – be it traditional or an alternative.”

In addition to the opening lineup of flavors, Newman plans on rolling out a new flavor every few weeks.

Cashew Cow’s regular hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 until 9pm and until 10pm Friday and Saturday. Cashew Cow’s frozen dessert will be available by the scoop or to take home in pints and quarts.
