Downtown Tucson’s Diablo Burger To Offer Screamery Ice Cream

Beginning February 1, Diablo Burger at 312 E. Congress St. will begin serving ice cream from Tucson’s far east side ice cream parlor, The Screamery.

The Screamery opened in July of 2014 at 50 S. Houghton and is owned and operated by husband and wife Kenny and Linda Sarnoski.

Diablo Burger, which opened in Flagstaff in 2009, sources most ingredients from within a 250 mile radius. The Tucson location opened in late 2012.

“The Screamery is a great match for us,” said Diablo Burger’s Derrick Widmark. “By using milk from grass-fed cows, Ken and Linda approach ice cream making in a way similar to what we do with burgers. And their flavors are creative, fun, and so very tasty.”

Diablo Burger will be the only downtown location to offer The Screamery product. Available flavors will be as follows:

  • Sweet Cream Honeycomb (pictured above)
  • Chocolate
  • Mint Chip
  • One to two rotating flavors

The Screamery has been on a roll since opening in 2014. As the only Arizona ice creamery making their own base and pasteurizing in house, The Screamery has received press from Eater National, The Arizona Daily Star, Inside Tucson Business, and the Tucson Weekly.

“We are extremely thrilled to have Diablo Burger feature The Screamery on their menu,” said Linda Sarnoski, who owns and operates The Screamery with her husband, Kenneth Sarnoski, II. “It’s great to partner up with those who share similar philosophies and promote local products. We’re looking forward to having a downtown presence , as well.”
