If you’ve been holding back on purchasing that box of Thin Mints or Samoas since starting the Paleo diet, you only have to hold out a few more days. On the flip side, if eating habits such as Paleo make you want to hurl dinosaur eggs at people, now is the time to stock up on those Trefoils. Girl Scout Cookie season ends March 1.

For those not in the know, the Girls Scouts cookies program helps to develop within each participant an essential “5 skills”: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.

“The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest Girl-led business in the world,” said Debbie Rich, Chief Executive Officer of the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona. “There is no other program that allows girls to gain such valuable experience and understanding of how they can transform their world, while developing the essential cookie five skills.”

This weekend, Girl Scout cookies will be available inside Bashas’ grocery stores throughout Arizona. Girl Scouts will act as Girl Scout Cookie Ambassadors near the display to help answer questions.

One hundred percent of the net revenue raised through Girl Scout Cookie sales stays with local councils, and girls decide how their troop cookie money is spent.

“The Girl Scout Cookie program is a critical source of funding for the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona and it is what makes it possible to serve girls in hard-to-serve areas, offer scholarships and maintain camps and programming,” added Rich. “It is through these funds that we are able to continually build girls of courage, confidence, and character who improve our community today and in the future.”
