The time has come, and it’s just in time to beat the summer heat. HUB Ice Cream Factory’s official Grand Opening is Friday, May 22, at 245 E. Congress Street.

Until now, HUB’s homemade ice cream flavors were only available on the other side of a crowded line at HUB’s original restaurant, located across the street. No need to fret over your favorite flavor being sold out before you reach the front, as the 1,000 square foot space will produce four times the amount of ice cream than HUB currently produces.

“HUB Ice Cream factory offers the nostalgia of an ice cream parlor with milkshakes, floats and other amazing treats,” said Sandy Ford, Director of Operations. “We play with scratch-made ice cream flavors that evoke childhood memories, the Tucson desert’s eclectic cultures and good old-fashioned yumminess.”

More good news for ice cream lovers. The Factory’s menu will include milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cakes and floats. The ice cream sandwiches will be made with fresh-baked cookies and brownies created by Pastry Chef Irene Cohen and Corporate Chef Jack Tate.

Scoops will be served in 4-ounce and 8-ounce cups, in addition to pint and gallon sizes to take home.

“We invite Tucsonans and families to come enjoy a sundae after a day of exploring downtown Tucson or to pick up a pint or gallon to bring home,” Ford said.

Vegan and gluten-free options will be available.

A to-go window will offer late-night treats ’til 2am. No word yet on the launch of the rumored HUB ice cream truck.
