Penca has announced “Noches de Penca,” a trip through the culinary regions of Mexico. Every Wednesday, Penca will offer a special prix fixe 3-course menu for just $25.
June features cuisine from the Yucatán peninsula. In contrast to some other Central American cultures, the Yucatán has been able to preserve their strong cultural roots due to its people’s defiance to invaders, and its remote physical location. As a result, their cuisine is uniquely Yucatán, with only a few influences from Dutch, Lebanese, and Spanish immigrants.
Penca is highlighting core ingredients of the Yucatán’s jungle and coastal inspired cuisine, including achiote, orange, and octopus.
A select list of wines will also be offered for $5 a glass. Or, you could opt to try one of Penca’s 30 mezcal and tequila varieties, the popular house-made sangria, or an award-winning craft cocktail.
Soon, you’ll be able to enjoy your meal and sip your spirit of choice outdoors, with a new patio coming to Penca’s Broadway location.
“Noches de Penca” will continue through Wednesday, August 26. The regular Penca menu will also be available during dinner service, which begins at 5pm.
Note: Penca will be closed from July 6 through July 15.
